Many applications of porous materials require extremely low gas permeability. Measurement of gas diffusion through such materials is essential for evaluating their performance. Such applications are found in many industries including biotech, healthcare, pharmaceutical, food, packaging, environmental, power sources and chemical industries. Determination of gas flow rates through porous materials is important for evaluating product performance in applications such as filtration, packaging, healthcare, biotechnology, and energy systems. PMI’s Dynamic Moisture Permeation Analyzer measures water vapor transmission through porous materials such as textiles, leather, synthetic materials, membranes, nonwovens, and fabrics used in numerous high technology components and consumer products manufactured by a variety of industries. The instrument measures vapor transmission rates over a wide range of humidity, temperature, and pressure conditions under gradients of humidity, temperature, and pressure encountered in application environments.

Dynamic Moisture Permeation Analyzer 

  • Humidity on either side of the sample can be controlled between 5% and 95% RH.
  • Pressure gradient across the sample can be controlled between 0 and 10 Torr.
  • Test temperature can be controlled between 10 °C and 40 °C.
